Reform UK policies will help local businesses with series of structured reforms that reduce financial burdens, Increase opportunities for growth, And create a business-friendly environment.
Here’s how:
Reduction of Financial Burdens
Corporation Tax Relief: Reform UK proposes lifting the minimum profit threshold to £100,000 and gradually reducing the main corporation tax rate from 25% to 15% over five years. This allows small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to retain more of their earnings, enabling reinvestment and growth. VAT Threshold Increase: The VAT threshold would be increased to £150,000, freeing small businesses from cumbersome VAT administration and reducing their tax liabilities. Energy Cost Reduction: By scrapping energy levies and Net Zero policies, Reform UK aims to slash energy bills, saving households and businesses significant amounts. Access to cheaper energy will alleviate operational costs for local businesses. Enhancing Opportunities for Growth
Enterprise Zones: Establishment of SME enterprise zones in underdeveloped areas with tax incentives and support for new businesses. This would foster economic activity and job creation in these regions. Business Rates Abolition: For high street-based SMEs, business rates would be abolished. This measure aims to rejuvenate local high streets by reducing the fixed costs associated with physical storefronts. Support for Sole Traders: Abolition of IR35 rules to support self-employed individuals and sole traders, promoting entrepreneurial activities and flexible working arrangements. Fostering a Business-Friendly Environment
Regulatory Simplification: Reform UK plans to simplify the tax code and reduce bureaucratic red tape, making it easier for businesses to navigate regulations and focus on growth. Planning System Reform: Fast-tracking planning and tax incentives for developing brownfield sites will encourage new housing and commercial projects, stimulating local economies and providing more spaces for business operations. Boosting Workforce Skills: Introducing new apprenticeships and vocational courses to ensure a skilled workforce, reducing dependency on overseas labor and promoting local employment.
