Community Capitalism vrs Crooked Coutts

Saturday, 22 July 2023

Free-market capitalism is a self-correcting, organic system, as is being shown right now by the collapsing reputation of Coutts Bank. They have made themselves so unpopular with the marketplace and ordinary people that they will soon be expunged. Terminated. Not by the government, but by customers. And the court of public opinion. This is exactly how free-market capitalism works. If customers do not like what businesses are doing, then they take their money away from that business and the business collapses. If customers do like what a company does then they buy more of their products and services and the company grows. This is the true nature of free-market capitalism and it is the most democratic of all economic systems. However, there is a corrupt form of capitalism which I call crony capitalism, which is when big business and politicians get into bed with each other and they pay each other; big businesses fund political parties and then, in return, political parties hand over contracts to big businesses. This corrupted form of capitalism, called crony capitalism, should be rejected by every right-thinking person. Free-market capitalism, what I call community capitalism, is the source of all wealth in this country, which is made - not by politicians - but by the hundreds of thousands or perhaps even millions of small to medium size businesses of all kinds, offering goods and services at reasonable prices to their customers. It is this form of capitalism which will generate the wealth, goods, and services which the rest of us rely on and which fund our public services. Government is not the source of wealth, Government expropriates wealth from the people and their businesses and the idea of politicians being paid by big businesses, like Pfizer, or Moderna, and then mandating people to take their products, is sickening and needs to be stopped. Free-market enterprise economy, what I like to call community capitalism, is how The People can raise themselves from rags to riches by hard work, enterprise and industry. It’s the way that my dad paid his way through life by starting a small business (he was a coal merchant in the days when people burned coal in the fireplaces). It is the way that I have made my way through life as a small business owner, And I’m proud to say that it’s the way my daughter is making her way through life as the proud owner of a small business. Production and trade is what made this country great. And production and trade is the way that we can get ourselves out of the economic mess that we’re in now. Let’s get the government out of the way, And let the natural ingenuity and creative genius of the British people lead the way... That’s how we make Britain Great.
